Hello Cinnamon Cove Friends,

It’s been a week since the Annual Membership Meeting and seating of the new board.  About 170 residents attended which shows great interest and support for what is happening in The Cove.

A great THANK YOU to three out-going board members, Barbara Blocker, Ray Cooper and Rob Duffney, who contributed many years of time and talent to Cinnamon Cove.

And welcome to Paul Cappella, Norm Schuring and Nancy Monahan as you begin your tenure on the board.  These new members join a very enthusiastic crew who are willing to do what is necessary to ensure that The Cove remains a vital community in SWFL.

            A few items of interest:

·           As mentioned at the meeting, there is a good amount of the paint left that was used to freshen up the windows at the clubhouse.  If you need a rejuvenation of the metal around your screens or windows, the paint is there for you.  Just email me.  No sense in it going bad.

·           Thanks to the landscape committee, the 32 sabal palms along Cinnamon Cove Boulevard were trimmed.  They needed it…looks great.

·           Villas II recently painted its buildings a new color scheme and is currently putting on new shingles.  Be sure to check it out.

·           The tennis courts were scheduled for resurface on the 20th of February, but who knew South West Florida would go through a bad cold spell.  So, that work will now be undertaken on the weekend of March 20

·           Fran McKito from Building 2 calls attention to all condo building associations with regard to your steps.  He noted that the angle iron is rusting badly at his building and is in need of repair.  He wanted to pass this along to you.  He had a company give an estimate for repair.  If you would like to contact him about this, please call 245-8511.

·           You may have noticed damage to the back gate that happened last Wednesday.  If you happen to be the person who did this, or know that person, please contact Liz Leden at Island Management at 454-3535 ext. 113.  It’s too bad the driver won’t admit the accident.  I have to believe it was an accident, so why not?

·           Remember, if you have a need to spend some of that pent-up energy and don’t have an outlet…well now you do.  Jeanne is always looking for volunteers at the clubhouse.  Call her at 466-7727.

       Community notes:

·           Chapel-by-the-Sea on Fort Myers Beach is in need of at least two male volunteers to help once a week.  Please call Cinnamon Cove resident, Arlene Fisher at 513-505-7635.  She will give you the information you will need and the schedule of service days.  More men can volunteer for this, and share the duties.

·           In case you haven’t noticed, the Wal-Mart destruction continues to progress very well.  There is hope the county and/or developer will have a community meeting to inform us of the major issues such as traffic patterns and road issues.

The next Master Board meeting is Monday, March 16 at 10 am.  Hope to see you there.

See you around The Cove,

Tony Medley
