February Master Board Update

Hello Cinnamon Cove Friends

The Annual Membership Meeting of The Cinnamon Cove Master Association will be Monday, February 16 at 10 am.  At the conclusion of this meeting a Board of Directors Organizational Meeting will take place.  New members will be seated on the board with elections of the Executive Board.  Please plan to attend so you can keep up with what is happening in The Cove.

You may recall at The Annual Membership Meeting residents are invited to speak on subjects concerning The Cove.  If you plan to speak, please consider others who may also want to.  Be as brief as you can so the meeting can move along.

Some items of interest:

· New street signs have been installed throughout the community.  The new green signs are a welcome change from the faded, orange ones.  Thanks ladies of that committee, Barbara Blocker, Chris Carmichael and Bobbi Watkins.

· New directional signs at the gates are now in place.  All of the old outdated ones are gone.  Please notice the style of the signs.  This is the new image all of the signs in The Cove will be in the future.

· What a GREAT job the volunteer painters just completed.   All of the electrical junction boxes look like brand new.  Board member, Sally Dill, and her crew got right on it.  These eight men don’t want me to mention their names, but too bad.  They deserve recognition…Harold Willingham, Kenny Richardson, Bill Calvert, Richard Lantz, Paul Cappella, Tom Golden, Steve Lundberg, Norm Schuring.

·  Also a huge THANKS to the seven guys who spent a Friday and Saturday painting around the clubhouse.  They are: Doug Grant, Pat Conway, Paul Ripchik, Bruce Lombard, Ben DeFonzo, Jim Mallon, Greg Cummings and yours truly.

· More projects are on the burner.  I will post a call for volunteers as the time draws closer.

· The tennis courts are set to be repaired and repainted the weekend of February 20, 21, 22.  No tennis or pickleball will be allowed those days.  If you want to play tennis, there are two parks nearby.  Pickleball players can go to Wa-ke Hatchee Park on Bass Road off Summerlin.

· Hope you were one of the 540 folks who attended the production of Carousel.  Each of the three nights sold out and, from every indication, all went away very entertained.  Congratulations to the 50 plus cast and crew who dedicated hundreds of hours to this mighty endeavor.  Your efforts were obvious.  Thanks to all and especially Sharon Dendinger for her dedication to something she is very passionate about.

·  It is still obvious some folks don’t know about walking on the streets.  Remember, always walk FACING traffic and ride your bike WITH the traffic.  Be sure to wear light colored clothing and carry a light at night.

Community interest items:

· The Lee County Trolley that runs to the beach is now picking up passengers at a location next to The Sunflower and Perkins restaurants.  There had been some concern that it was going away, but a notice in the newspaper indicted that the transit authority is purchasing property on Summerlin Square Road for a permanent location for the trolley.

· Also, had the opportunity to see a wonderful concert in January.  The Bonita Springs Concert Band presents free (that’s always good) monthly concerts at Riverside Park on Old 41.  This band has around 75 members who make a great sound.  The next concert if February 22 at 2 pm

The next two items are usually reserved for individual association matters, but I thought it might be worth noting:

·  It has been mentioned to me by a couple of residents that they are concerned and disturbed about barking dogs.  As residents we are all responsible for our units and what takes place in and around them.  If you, as a resident, have a dog that barks when you are present or when you have left for a time, then your dog is disturbing the neighbors.  Please be considerate of your neighbors.

· Absentee owners…you are asked to be sure your renters know and abide by the rules of your association and of Cinnamon Cove in general.

Hope to see you Monday at the meeting.  Please remember, if you notice any issues, please call Liz Leden, our CAM at 454-3525 ext. 113.

Hope to see you around The Cove,

Tony Medley
