There are currently 5 active groups that meet regularly
in Cinnamon Cove. All residents are more than welcome to participate
in any or all of these. There is a brief description for each of these
below. If you have an interest in any of these areas, be sure to click
on the link below each of the descriptions for further information. BOOK CLUB - The Book Club meets at the Clubhouse on the second Monday of each month, November through April, at 11:15 AM. Members choose the books by narrowing down a pool of suggestions. Books chosen are from various genres that will enlighten and provoke thought and discussion. All are welcome to attend. CHESS CLUB - The newly formed Chess Club meets Fridays at 10:00 AM in the card room of the clubhouse. Those interested in playing or learning the game of Chess should attend. All are welcome regardless of level of play. Chess sets are not required. Lessons are available for beginners wishing to learn the game, or anyone who wants to get reacquainted with it. At meetings, besides playing chess, various chess topics are discussed and may be demonstrated with a large screen projector. Topics include the challenging play of computer chess programs, and discussions of diverse historical games and puzzles. Contact is Jim Mango. COMPUTER CLUB - The Computer Club meets at the Clubhouse on the first and third Saturday of each month at 9:00 AM. This schedule is generally subject to many changes, due to conflicts with some Special Events that may be taking place. The latest updated schedule is always available through the link provided below. The experience level of the members ranges from Novice to Semi-expert, but we are all "Amateurs", so don't be shy about attending a meeting. Our purpose is to have everyone share their knowledge with those who will benefit from such sharing. Various topics are discussed through a prepared presentation at each meeting, with time for questions and general "socializing" afterward. The Computer Club newsletter CinnamonBark is available by email to all community residents by request to Cinnamonbark@AOL.com. Two Special Interest Groups have developed as a result of the applicability of computers to their pursuits. These are the Genealogy and Photography Clubs which are described below. It is not necessary to join the Computer Club to participate in either of these groups. Meetings and presentations, however, will appear in the Computer Club schedule which you can access via the Computer Club Information button above. GENEALOGY CLUB - The Genealogy Group is a special interest group associated with the Computer Club. While it is obvious that the use of computers greatly assists in the search for and recording of family history, participants in this group do not necessarily have to belong to the Computer Club. Nancy Monahan, a key member of the Computer Club will facilitate the genealogy group and can be reached at nmonahan@hotmail.com or at one of the Computer Club meetings. More information here ... PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB - The Photographic Group is a special interest group associated with the Computer Club. While it is obvious that the use of digital cameras naturally ties into image enhancement by computer, participants in this group do not necessarily have to belong to the Computer Club. John Kern, a key member of the Computer Club will facilitate the photographic group and he can be reached at indykern@aol.com or at one of the Computer Club meetings.
